Nitin Gadkari informed Rajya Sabha that his ministry facilitates access to finance for Micro and Small Enterprises through its schemes/programmes namely Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Credit Guarantee Scheme for Micro and Small Enterprises and Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme. The minister also mentioned that Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has submitted its Report to the RBI wherein it has been recommended that the limit for collateral-free lending should be increased to Rs.20 lakh for MSMEs and Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
