POCO announced POCO X2 at an event in New Delhi. Starting INR 15,999, POCO X2 will be available for purchase 11 February onwards.
POCO is an independent brand born out of Xiaomi in India. Its first product, POCO F1 was launched in August 2018, and since January 2020, POCO has become an independent entity. POCO F1 was India's No.1 smartphone in the ‘above INR 15,000 price segment’ in the online smartphone market as per third party statistics. Currently, POCO has an independent product and marketing team, and shares resources from Xiaomi in terms of supply chain, logistics, manufacturing and after sales.
Staying true to POCO’s brand philosophy of everything you need, nothing you don’t, X2 is a coming together of high-quality components along with sophisticated software with a sharp focus on smooth.
POCO X2 - 120Hz RealityFlow Engine
With a clear focus on flagship-grade smooth user experience above anything else, POCO X2 features a 120Hz display powered by RealityFlow engine.
Built on the POCO mantra of ‘everything you need, nothing you don’t’, POCO X2 prioritizes superlative user experience. With a Full HD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio, POCO X2 comes HDR10 certified. Both, the display and the rear of the phone, come covered in Corning® Gorilla Glass® 5.
Snapdragon 730G with LiquidCool Technology
The Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 730G mobile platform ensures adequate processing power for the geeks and for casual users. The powerful octa-core Kryo 470 CPU cores and Adreno 618 GPU combine to make POCO X2 one of the most powerful and reliable smartphones in its category. Coupled with software optimizations, POCO X2 achieves an AnTuTu score of 274,334 points - among the highest in its segment.
POCO X2 also comes with LiquidCool Technology that ensures sustained peak performance and that it is not hindered by thermal throttling.
Paired with upto 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, POCO X2 is geared for serious multi-tasking as well as gaming. POCO X2 features UFS2.1 storage, up to 256GB in capacity, along with a hybrid slot for storage expansion.
64MP Quad Camera setup
POCO X2 becomes the first phone in the country to feature the Sony IMX686 64MP wide-angle sensor as part of its quad-camera setup. In tow is an 8MP sensor with an ultra-wide angle lens; a 2MP macro shooter with autofocus than can handle subjects between 10cm and 2cm, and a 2MP depth sensor to deliver accurate info for the perfect portrait shot.
POCO X2 users will be able to shoot incredible video of upto 4K/30fps in resolution and 960fps slow-motion clips.
Dual in-screen selfie cameras
POCO X2 is one of the first few phones in the country to feature a dual in-screen camera setup that allows for great selfies, especially portrait mode. To achieve this, it combines a 2MP depth sensor with a 20MP main camera. This also doubles up as the Face Unlock mechanism.
4500mAh battery with 27W charging out of the box
POCO X2 builds on top of what F1 stood for; on the battery front, it ships with a large-capacity 4500mAh battery that will easily last over a day. Users will also benefit from 27W fast charging right out of the box.
POCO X2 also benefits, both in terms of power management and performance enhancement, from software optimizations that come with MIUI for POCO, based on Android 10. It charges up to 30% in 15 minutes.
Strong developer community
POCO users have always enjoyed strong community support, thanks to an active developer interest. To ensure great levels of developer involvement, kernel sources for POCO X2 will be made public along with active measures to establish a direct connect with third party developers.
The first batch of POCO X2 devices, in limited edition, will commemorate the POCO community with a collage of names (employees, fans and developers) coming together to form the product name.
Manmohan Chandolu, General Manager, POCO India, said “The way users and fans have supported us throughout the POCO journey has been nothing short of incredible. POCO X2 is very much the result of feedback and requests from the POCO community. We’ve tried to maintain a sharp focus on what matters, and hence hope to meet POCO fans’ expectations with features like the 120Hz display, 64MP IMX686 camera and LiquidCool Technology with POCO X2.
“We will continue to make efforts to democratize decision making and continue to evolve; buyers and the community in general will get to see more examples as we move ahead”
