PayPal and NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) formalized its’ partnership to integrate Unified Payments Interface (UPI) on PayPal World at the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai. This cements UPI as one of the leading launch partners on PayPal World that will connect many of the world’s largest payment systems and digital wallets on a single platform.
PayPal World is designed to connect leading global payment systems and digital wallets on a single, technology-agnostic platform for cross border commerce. Leveraging open commerce APIs, PayPal World solves the complexity of cross border commerce with a cloud native, multi-region deployment architecture that ensures low latency and high availability worldwide. The platform is designed with robust security capabilities, creating a device and technology-agnostic environment for all partners.
Once live, Indian consumers will be able to use UPI to transact online across millions of businesses that accept PayPal. The UPI integration will also allow international travellers in India to seamlessly make payments using their PayPal wallets.
