Ministry of Food Processing Industries today organized Ambassadors’ Meet at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi, to discuss overseas participation in the World Food India (WFI) 2025. The fourth edition of 'World Food India’ is being organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, from 25 – 28 September 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event will showcase Indian Food Processing Sector, with collaborations and investments from global Stakeholders.
The interaction was chaired by Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Shri Avinash Joshi. It was attended by Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Charge d' Affaires and other senior representatives from wide spectrum of countries. In total 51 countries were represented in the interaction. Senior Officers from Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, APEDA, FSSAI and ITPO, apart from the organizations involved in organizing the event (FICCI, Invest India, and EY) attended the event.
At the outset, Shri. P.S. Gangadhar, Joint Secretary (Economic Diplomacy), Ministry of External Affairs, welcomed the delegates and emphasised about the importance of the event. Secretary, FPI, in his keynote address, briefed the representatives about the details of the event. He explained that WFI 2025 will feature a series of Buyer-Seller Meets, thematic & technical sessions, exhibitions, dedicated pavilions on alcoholic beverages, HORECA, post-harvest technologies, food processing & packaging machineries and more – creating avenues for B2B and G2G engagements, fostering mutual collaborations, and enabling industry-specific partnerships. During the presentation, this year’s focus pillars were detailed, and glimpses of the past editions were provided.
The participants were apprised of the preparations made for the event and opportunities available for participating countries/ business entities. All the representatives of the embassies appreciated the special importance of the event in existing global food scenario and assured all efforts for active participation from respective countries. The representatives assured presence of strong food processing sectoral contingent from respective countries.
The World Food India 2025 will be a “Whole of Government Approach”, as various Ministries / Departments of the Government of India as well as Government Organisations viz. Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Department of Fisheries, Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of MSME, APEDA, MPEDA and other Commodity Boards will be pooling their respective strengths to ensure its success.
