Delhi Comic Con Kicks Off With Cosplay, Gaming and Creator Sessions

Delhi Comic Con opens in Delhi with global guests, creator sessions, cosplay, gaming zones and fan experiences, marking a vibrant start to its three-day pop-culture festival.

Delhi Comic Con, one of India’s biggest pop culture festivals, has officially begun, transforming the city into a full-fledged pop-culture paradise for the weekend. Presented by Maruti Suzuki Arena, powered by Crunchyroll, and held in association with Android, the Delhi edition started from December 5th at the NSIC Exhibition Grounds, Okhla, promising an unforgettable three-day celebration of comics, anime, manga, gaming, storytelling, and everything in between.

The energy on day 1 at Delhi Comic Con only grew stronger throughout the day as fans poured in with friends and family, ready to indulge in the excitement. The ground buzzed with excited conversations as attendees interacted with celebrated comic writers and illustrators, browsed through book stations stacked with beloved anime and manga series, and discovered new stories to indulge in.

In the international guest roster, Chloé Hollings, best known as the voice of Widowmaker in Overwatch, delighted fans with her presence and storied career across film, theatre, and major gaming titles like Valerian, Wolverine, and Wolfenstein: Youngblood.

A diverse line-up of publishing houses and Indian artists, were seen interacting with fans including Savio Mascarenhas (Tinkle’s hero-maker and Group Art Director at Amar Chitra Katha), Alok Sharma from Indusverse, Asvin Srivatsangam from Yali Dreams Creations, Prasad Bhat from GraphiCurry, Vivek Goel from Holy Cow Entertainment and many more from the creative industry.

Delhi Comic Con also spotlighted rising young talent, with creators like 19-year-old Vaishnavi Phogat who is already running two Webtoon series and multiple manga projects, seen connecting directly with readers. Marvel creator Tadam Gyadu impressed fans with his India-inspired storytelling, while illustrator Alaina Vinayak, known as Axis Williams, showcased her bold stylised art. Together, they highlighted how young creators are shaping the next wave of Indian pop culture.

Day 1 also featured a lineup of special sessions, including engaging showcases by Amar Chitra Katha and Radio Mirchi, along with creator-led interactions such as Comic Con Creator’s Corner: Zoraver and The Lost Gods, The Creatorverse, and the Comic Con Community Spotlight: The Tier Wars.

High-energy performances kept the crowd buzzing through the evening. The Hope Beatbox Crew set the pace with powerful rhythms, followed by Street Pulse ft. K!llSwitch, who amped up the vibe with a dynamic musical set. Adding the perfect dose of laughter, Inder Sahani’s stand-up act had fans in splits. 

Celebratory mood was spread across the venue as fandoms came to life. Talented cosplayers showcased their craft as characters like Wolverine, Ringwraiths, Evangelion, Loki, Denji, Black Panther, Zoro and many more characters. 

Across the festival, competitive and casual gaming zones raised the bar of excitement as fans battled and celebrated their shared passion for gaming.

Expansive VR and interactive zones were crafted to offer visitors into new world of experience. Reflex zones by Maruti Suzuki Arena Zone, to the vibrant fandom universe inside the Crunchyroll Experience arena. Attendees also immersed themselves in the action at the Android BGMI Panfest and the Lenovo Legion Gaming Zone, while fantasy lovers stepped into elemental storytelling at the Avatar: Fire & Ash Experience Zone. Kinderjoy’s Experience Zone immersed fans in an action-packed, Batman-themed Gotham City, providing interactive fun for both kids and their parents.

Every corner offered a moment of wonder, making the festival a natural, ever-thriving hub for creators, fans, and pop-culture lovers alike.

Day 2 at Delhi Comic Con promises heightened excitement with a special Amar Chitra Katha session, a spellbinding performance by internationally acclaimed magician Karan Singh, and a high-energy set by Yung Sammy, the Nigerian-born rapper reshaping India’s hip-hop scene and breaking stereotypes, all combined ensuring an unforgettable experience.
