SILF Event: Celebrating Women in Indian Judiciary

In celebration of International Women's Day, the Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF) and SILF Ladies Group are set to host a preeminent seminar and felicitation event on March 9, 2024. With the theme "Setbacks and Strides: The Journey Ahead," the event aims to honour the significant contributions of women in the Indian judiciary while highlighting the path forward in achieving gender equality in the legal profession.

Dr Lalit Bhasin, President, SILF, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, stating, "International Women's Day provides an important opportunity to recognize and celebrate the achievements of women in the legal fraternity. Through this seminar and felicitation, we aim to shine a spotlight on the remarkable journey of women in the Indian judiciary and inspire future generations of legal professionals."

Ms. Shweta Bharti, Managing Partner, Hammurabi &Solomon Partners-Convener., emphasized the importance of fostering an inclusive environment within the legal profession. "As we commemorate International Women's Day, it is crucial to acknowledge the challenges faced by women in the judiciary and work towards creating a more equitable and supportive workplace,"Events like these not only honour the achievements of women but also serve as a platform for meaningful dialogue and progress."

The event will feature esteemed speakers, including the Solicitor General of India, Tushar Mehta, who will deliver the keynote address. Additionally, the day-long session will include insightful discussions on gender equality, diversity, and inclusivity in the legal profession.

The highlight of the event will be the felicitation of women achievers from various fields, recognizing their outstanding contributions to society. Dr. Amrita Singh, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools will lead the felicitation ceremony, honouring notable women such as Dr. Neelam Suri, Ms. Indira Jaising, Ms. Pallavi Saluja, MsDr. Jyotsna Suri, MsDr. Shashikala Gurpur, Ms. Anmol Kharb, Ms. Falguni Nayar, Dr. Bina Modi, Ms. Bithika Anand, and Dr. Upasana Arora.

Eminent Judges from High Court of Delhi like Hon’ble Ms. Justice Mini Pushkarna; Hon’ble Ms. Justice Tara Vitasta Ganju; Hon’ble Ms. Justice Neena Bansal Krishna

 and Hon’ble Ms. Justice Rekha Palli will also address the session.
