iSkiL Upskilling Program for School Students:

In an initiative aimed at integrating over sixty skills within the context of curricular subjects for students in a remarkably short period, Zamit, a leading AI-enabled one-stop solution provider for the school ecosystem has launched iSkiL, a one-of-its-kind ‘upskilling’ and empowerment programme for young students. The International Skills & Knowledge Integrated Learning (iSkil) Programme has been developed using a proprietary AI-driven model built on the concept of Measure-Improve-Monitor (M-I-M). Importantly, the programme builds multiple skills including Learning Power, the core to academic excellence for any student. The programme also maps the skills recommended by the National Education Policy 2020 and the learning skills covered in the International Baccalaureate (IB). Equally notable is that the programme is mapped to the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) of England, Wales & Northern Ireland (UK’s regulatory framework), a global standard and certified by QAI UK.

iSkiL Program Structure:

While it would be a sixty-hour co-curricular programme for students in classes 5 to 10, it would be a 130-hour programme for those in class 11 – to be delivered as per the school schedule. Under the M-I-M model, the Improvement phase would comprise of 26 trainer-led sessions of 35 minutes each; and an additional 35 hours of guided-learning activities & engagements for classes 5-10; and 105 hours for class 11 – with a provision for periodic formative reviews of each participant.

iSkiL Program Benefits:

The programme is being offered in partnership with the school in both online and blended formats. For those opting for this programme, some of the value additions include a range of internship opportunities, an opportunity to participate in an annual scholarship worth Rs 5 lacs, the creation, and maintenance of personal e-portfolios of academic and non-academic achievements for participating students, and for schools an overall impact analysis reports measuring growth and improvement, among others. Additionally, participants will receive an  International English Proficiency Certification, powered by Global English Testing Services (GETS) and certified by QAI UK.

The Changing Landscape of Education:

“In an ever-intensifying competitive world, skilling and upskilling can no longer be the preserve of the senior college and university students alone. With technology catalyzing a tectonic shift in terms of not only the way school students are increasingly being taught, but also the fast-evolving career landscapes of the future, school-going students have become more driven and ambitious than ever before. While appreciating that the concept of school and learning itself is undergoing significant change, we know that the skills required to bridge the gap between school and workplace are not the same as traditionally understood. Instead, it is important to support students in identifying their strengths and weaknesses at an early age to continuously work on their weaknesses and pick up new skills along the way so they may be equipped with 21st-century skills and truly future-ready when they pass out of school,” said Mr. Aarul Malaviya, Founder and Director of Zamit.

“Through this unique programme, by sharpening multiple skills including learning power, a key to academic success, we aim to help students not only improve performance in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities but also in becoming smart and self-directed lifelong learners. With the English language gaining even more prominence as the lingua franca of the future workplace and most tech-based innovations coming from the English-speaking world and devising the workplaces of the future, the programme with its focus on global standards of English proficiency suitable for an international profile would be a huge boost for aspiring school students of India," added Mr. Malaviya.
