VMware announced that a growing adoption of VMware vCloud Suite® is becoming visible in the Indian market. The advanced cloud infrastructure solution capability is attracting enterprises in India, the company says. With the Software Defined Datacenter (SDDC) approach to IT now adopted among local enterprises across various sectors, VMware is solidifying its leadership position in India’s cloud infrastructure market.

According to an IDC report commissioned by VMware, customers in India are expected to save an estimated US$4 billion between 2014 and 2020 by adopting a software-defined approach to managing IT<1>. These figures reflect operational costs associated with power consumption, cooling, real estate and server administration.
Earlier this year, VMware inaugurated its 438,000 square foot facility in South Bangalore – a total investment of US$120 million, representing the company’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological innovation and evolving the business structure to serve customers locally and globally. VMware has over 3,500 customers in India.
