Vedanta Resources, a diversified global natural resources, energy and technology company spanning across India, South Africa, Zambia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Namibia and Liberia, is set to participate in the African Mining Indaba 2026, scheduled to take place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 09–12 February 2026. African Mining Indaba is the premier global platform for mining investment, policy dialogue and deal-making in Africa, bringing together governments, industry leaders, investors and development partners from across the world. The forum plays a critical role in shaping the future of mining on the continent and in the world.
With representation from across the Vedanta Group, including its Africa-based businesses Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) and Vedanta Zinc International (VZI), the Group’s participation at one of the world’s most influential mining investment platforms underscores its strategic focus on critical minerals and metals, responsible mining and manufacturing, and international collaboration to support the global energy transition.
As the world’s largest integrated producer of zinc, the fourth-largest global producer of silver, and one of the top producers of aluminium globally, Vedanta plays a pivotal role in supplying essential materials for the global energy transition. As part of the official programme, Vedanta’s senior leadership will highlight the role of critical minerals and metals—such as copper, cobalt, aluminium and zinc—in enabling an inclusive global energy transition. They will also underscore the importance of partnership-driven growth between India and Africa, Africa’s evolution from a supplier of raw materials to an emerging hub for minerals processing and advanced manufacturing, and the need for collaborative, stakeholder-led approaches to mining partnerships. With world-class, large-scale assets, integrated operations, and deep expertise across the mining-to-manufacturing value chain, Vedanta is uniquely positioned to partner with Africa in building resilient, future-ready critical minerals and metals ecosystems.
In addition to its participation in the official programme, Vedanta will host a series of business-partner meetings during the African Mining Indaba to explore collaboration opportunities and strengthen relationships across mining and metals production, downstream manufacturing, technology adoption, and sustainability solutions, aligned with the Group’s long-term growth and sustainability priorities across Africa and India.
Vedanta’s presence at African Mining Indaba 2026 reflects its continued focus on responsible resource development, partnership-led growth, and contributing to the global energy transition through critical minerals.
