Sparsh started its journey 2 decades ago with the vision of making India a destination for design & manufacturing of advanced security solutions.

In 2002, An Electronics Engineer, Sanjeev Sehgal saw that the CCTV market in India started to emerge. During an Installation process of a CCTV Camera at a Client’s Premises, Sehgal recalls an episode wherein the Client was frustrated seeing the CCTV cameras tethered to bulky systems on office desks via lengthy cables sprawling all over the floors and tables. It was this time that an idea sparked in his mind. Sparsh became the first Company to develop homegrown remote operating switches for CCTV cameras & from there their manufacturing journey started

The Company that time also started making Intruder alarm systems & Audio/Video Door Phone Systems . In the early 2000s when every raw material for CCTV cameras was mostly imported from China, Sparsh’s remote-operated matrix switches were 21 times lower in cost compared to Chinese products.

These cameras transcend traditional surveillance & offer unparalleled precision with efficiency. To continue the 'Make in India' push, Sparsh has signed an MOU with Uttarakhand Govt to set up an electronics manufacturing cluster in Kashipur. This new facility will have the capacity to produce 1 million cameras per month. The Company has won many accolades & awards including the 'National MSME Award for Product Quality'.

Despite the Pandemic, due to its focus on innovation quality & support of government policies, Sparsh achieved a CAGR of —80% from 2019 to 2021In Covid the company converted their long rare thermal camera into fever detection camera & created around 17 models in 80 days, which were used at PM’s residence, hospitals, hotels, etc.

The Last Decade:

Between 2010 and 2015, Sparsh, despite having 12 % market share in the then unorganised CCTV market faced difficulties due to China’s growing control over the sector. The major push came, when with technical support from Sony Electronics, the company designed & manufactured 1 of the first indigenous cameras using Sony chipset within 45 days. Sony gave an order to Sparsh instead of major established players like Tata & Honeywell. It gave a major boost to the company & within the next 3 years Sparsh grew up by 11 X

Sparsh was doing a B2B business back then, but things took a bad turn in 2015 when China got a stronghold on global electronic manufacturing. Their advanced infrastructure, expansive supply chain, & highly skilled workforce rattled the Indian electronics market. Leveraging economies of scale, Chinese companies provided cost-effective solutions that proved challenging for their Indian counterparts to rival. Gradually, Chinese companies like Hikvision, Dahua & others made their entry into the Indian market, and with the persistent challenge of low price accompanied by the Indian mindset of not trusting homegrown companies, Sparsh’s business took a backseat.

The Turning Point…

The major boon for the Company came from the ‘Make in India’ initiative where the government was backing & pushing homegrown companies. Sehgal didn’t miss out on this opportunity and pivoted to the government sector for the deployment of security surveillance system
