S. Chand's Learnflix Registers 500% Growth Amid COVID

Learnflix has seen the increase in the number of the subscriber from 3,000 to around 20000 in last 4 months since the complete shutdown of educational institutions across the country.

S. Chand and Co. India’s oldest and largest textbook and education content company have reported a staggering increase in usage of its home learning app - Learnflix - during the coronavirus lockdown.

With schools being closed since March, Learnflix has seen a robust growth of  513% in subscriptions during the lockdown specially from tier II and tier III cities with similar growth in downloads, signups as well a 100 per cent increase in schools and channel partners.

In a significant thrust towards ramping up their digital education portfolio, S. Chand and Co., launched its personalised home learning app Learnflix earlier this year. Learnflix has seen the increase in the number of the subscriber from 3,000 to around 20000 in last 4 months since the complete shutdown of educational institutions across the country. The massive jump and increase are noticed particularly in Tier II & III towns like Agra, Bhatinda, etc. where students can easily afford it from their monthly pocket money. The app is aggressively priced and highly affordable compared to other available learning apps to ensure easy adoption by schools and students across India.

Learnflix is currently being used in 600+ towns and cities across 86 Countries. In India, Learnflix is being used in 250+ towns and cities. Countries like Oman, United Arab Emirates, United States, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, Philippines, Kuwait, Netherlands etc are also using the app for the students.

Learnflix offers Math and Science classes for 6 to 10 graders, based on the CBSE syllabus, while also being of use to students of other state boards. With features like anytime-anywhere learning (including engaging animated videos, quizzes, revision notes and summaries), sample papers, unlimited practice tests with varied difficulty levels, and personalised learning ranging from remedial to advanced lessons, with easy access to all its resources after subscription.

Speaking on the growth of its digital arm, Himanshu Gupta, Managing Director, S. Chand and Co. said “With the growing demand for digitisation in the education sector, we have decided to strengthen our digital offerings and introduced host of e-learning solutions that include the personalised home learning app, Learnflix. Our other e-learning solutions include ‘Mylestone’ targeting Tier-II and Tier-III markets and the ‘mystudygear’ app. Which are quickly closing the gap between the traditional teacher-student education experience to one led through internet-based interactive impartation of education”.

Speaking on Learnflix’s new achievement, Vinay Sharma, Digital and Services Head, S. Chand and Co. said “We have seen a massive growth of 513% in our app downloads and adding new subscribers in the portfolio. Parents, teachers, and students are getting benefits from this platform and we are making learning easy and reliable. Over 15,647 new students have started learning on the app since March 2020 and We expect these figures to now grow at a much faster pace and we are targeting 1 lac subscribers by the end of this fiscal year”.
