Global wireless broadband provider -- RADWIN (www.radwin.com), announces its mmWave mesh solution at 60GHz which will be showcased at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Feb. 26 - March 1, 2018.
Complementing its leading and widely deployed sub-6GHz PtMP/PtP portfolio, RADWIN’s innovative 60GHz self-organizing wireless mesh solution leverages technologies from Terragraph, a 60GHz multi-node wireless system introduced by Facebook that, delivers a low-cost solution for high-speed wireless access, complementing metro fiber. RADWIN’s uniquely advanced mesh solution had been developed in close collaboration with Intel Corporation, a global leader in 5G, mmWave and digital transformation.
RADWIN’s solution will be Terragraph-certified to enable a standardized and interoperable ecosystem based on 60GHz technologies.
Sharon Sher, RADWIN President and CEO: “RADWIN is a leading Fixed Wireless Access solution provider in the sub-6GHz space and we are well attuned to the market and to customers’ insatiable demand for broadband. The fact that fiber is often cost-prohibitive and slow to roll-out drives the need for fiber-like Fixed Wireless Access solutions. We are very excited to work with Facebook and Intel to develop and introduce this 60GHz Terragraph-certified mesh solution, enriched with RADWIN’s unique features and technologies. Together with our sub-6GHz portfolio we can now fulfill a wider array of broadband services and variety of deployment scenarios - including the delivery of 1Gbps to the home – using a high-speed flexible and scalable architecture. Field trials are planned for the 2nd half of 2018 and the offering is highly anticipated by our leading partners and customers.”
“Intel has been actively working with leading companies in the industry to introduce cutting edge wireless solutions to support the next generation of network infrastructure,” said Caroline Chan, vice president Data Center Group and general manager of 5G Infrastructure Division, Network Platforms Group. “We have been excited to work collaboratively with RADWIN and Facebook to deliver an innovative and ground breaking 60GHz mmWave mesh solution. This will enable rapid and cost-effective deployment of ultra-broadband wireless networks delivering 5G services to enterprises and residences alike”.
