QuackQuack, India's homegrown dating app, adds another feather to its hat as it hits a major milestone of 40 million users. This achievement has cemented the app's footing as one of the most popular dating platforms in India. It's not just the sheer numbers, but how and where the growth is coming from. QuackQuack's Founder and CEO, Ravi Mittal, commented, "For us, this 40 million is not just about the volume but the trust people have placed in us; it is an incentive for our constant effort to make dating more accessible to all. What's most exciting this year is the spike in numbers from Metropolitan cities, besides the suburbs and rural India. A year before, most dating apps reported losing metro users to offline dating. QuackQuack, however, saw a surge in Tier 1 daters, with more singles opting for our app as the point of first contact. Moreover, the rise in female daters has also been especially encouraging."

Metros make a comeback.

Smaller cities and towns still remain the app's largest user base, but zoom out a little, and the story becomes more interesting. Countering the popular trend of Tier 1 singles opting to date IRL, QuackQuack saw a considerable growth from metro heavyweights in 2025, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad, in fact, stood out with an impressive 15.9% growth, and Mumbai came close with 9.8%.

Tier 2 and 3 carry the weight

While Metros are making an impressive comeback, the smaller cities continue to act as the powerhouses. Several Tier 2 and 3 cities recorded over 25% of growth, delivering a remarkable contribution to QuackQuack's expansion. Some of the fastest-growing cities include Kurnool - 25.7%, Sagar - 24.5%, Anantapur - 24.2%, Bokaro Steel City - 23.4%, Chandrapur - 23.4%, Rourkela - 23.2% and Calicut- 22.1%.

5-year Growth and Rising Female Users

Over the past five years, QuackQuack has experienced a steady, organic growth, driven by India's shifting perception about online dating. The app also saw a growth in female participation, with a 12% increase in female users in 2025, indicating a growing comfort and trust in QuackQuack's safety features.

GenZ And Millennials

The 40 million came with a real telling insight into the changing dating patterns among the GenZ and Millennial dates. In 2025, both generations have seen a shift in priority; jumping straight into romance isn't it. They want connections that start with friendship first. Over 24% of singles born between 1989 and 1999 and after 2000 are primarily looking for new friends on dating apps, and approximately 19% are interested in friendships that will eventually lead to dating. Despite this similarity, their attitude towards relationships diverges from here. While millennials are more intention-driven, with a larger number of singles interested in marriage, GenZ is more spontaneous, with 36% higher interest in purely dating when compared to Millennials. The interest in 'dating that leads to marriage' is more among Millennials (5.3% vs 3.2%).
