October is Cyber Security Awareness Month. It’s held to raise awareness of cyber security threats, promote cyber security for individuals and organisations, and to provide resources to ensure that everyone stays protected. The overarching theme for this year is “cyber security is a shared responsibility!”
This year India has witnessed multiple high-profile security incidents like the Facebook and the Aadhaar data breach. The growing number of security incidents shows that cybercrime is rapidly creating a struggle of truly epic proportions. As cyber-attacks on individuals and companies increase exponentially year on year, it becomes increasingly imperative for users to consider ways in which they can protect themselves, their data and their business. Millions of people are unaware of and uninformed about how their personal information is being used, collected or shared in our digital society.
Addressing the above, Surendra Singh, Country Director-India and SAARC, Forcepoint, can share detailed insights on:
- The need for organizations to step up their security efforts and build a culture that upholds the need to protect customer data.
- How cybersecurity month is a good reminder for organizations to build a human-centric security approach, which focuses on the interaction of people and critical data to not only protect their business and customer’s data but also their employees and Intellectual Property.
