The MSME Technology Centre, Aurangabad has recently entered into a pact with The Welding Institute (TWI), UK for providing high end skill development training to MSMEs especially in automotive sector.
MSME Technology Centre, Indo German Tool Room (IGTR), Aurangabad is an Autonomous Society under Office of the DC-MSME, Ministry of MSME.
Under the MoU content would be provided for skill development training in the areas of Advance Welding and other joining processes such as Resistance Welding, Laser Welding and Electron Beam Welding (EBW) etc.
The MoU envisages helping address problems of industry particularly Indian MSMEs working in the automotive sector and provide consultancy services jointly in the area of supply chain development, said a statement.
The Welding Institute or TWI, UK is a non-profit distributing company and is engaged in research and technology development in welding since 1946 with facilities across the UK and around the world.
IGTR, Aurangabad is an Autonomous Society under Ministry of MSME providing skilled manpower, tooling & technology support to industries, especially automotive sector.
The MoU was been signed on March 14, 2016 in the presence of Surendra Nath Tripathi, Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner, MSME, and other senior officers of Office of Development Commissioner, MSME.
Tripathi said that all 18 MSME Technology Centres are already skilling more than two lakh youth every year and supporting more than 30,000 MSMEs.
“This joint initiative with TWI would further strengthen the MSME sector by providing hi-end skills to the employees of the industries and consultancy services in latest Welding technologies for improvement in the competitiveness of the industries,” he said.
It is expected that this initiative would further support the Prime Minister’s vision of “Make in India” and “Skill India”.
