MeitY’s NIXI Urged MSMEs and MSME Associations to Adopt .In and .Bharat Domains
The National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI), a not for profit organization under section 8 under Companies Act 2013, under the aegis of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has urged the MSME associations and members to use .IN & .भारत domain names.
NIXI also manages the .IN Registry offering .IN Domain name, India’s country code top-level domain on the Internet.
The IN Registry implements the policies of MeitY, from time to time. With Government of India’s thrust on the Digital India programme, .IN domain name has become an important tool to ensure one’s online presence, NIXI said in a notification.
It promotes the company’s growth providing an Indian identity, in a cost-effective way. As on date .IN Registry has approximately 2 million domain registrations. A copy of NIXI brochure is enclosed herewith, said NIXI.
.IN Registry also manages .भारत, the Internationalized Domain Name (IDN). .भारत domain name is available in fifteen Indian regional languages namely Hindi, Bodo, Dogri, Konkani, Maithili, Marathi, Nepali, Sindhi, Gujarati, Bengali, Manipuri (Bengali script), Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu & Urdu. Availability of .भारत domain in Indian languages is meant to increase the reach of Internet as users will be able to access domain names in their own language.
