At the 22nd edition of Black Hat USA held in Las Vegas, Microsoft recognized Hardik Shah, security researcher McAfee India, as one of the Most Valuable Security Researcher for 2019. Hardik was one of the top 50% researchers, ranked 37th globally, and was accredited by the Microsoft Security Response Centre (MSRC) for his outstanding contribution towards securing Microsoft’s customers and the broader ecosystem.

Each year, Microsoft announces the top security researchers who disclose newly discovered vulnerabilities in hardware, software, and services, directly to the vendors, a national CERT or other coordinators. Hardik was showcased amongst the top tier global researchers, evaluated basis not just the volume, but also the accuracy and impact of the reports he submitted. The program helps in providing a timely and consistent guidance to customers to help them protect themselves in the digital age.

The list at Black Hat comprises of security researchers across the globe, who possess varied experience and skills and have contributed bug reports and threat intelligence, thereby improving the security posture of Microsoft products and users.

Given the dynamic nature of the security discipline, there an increased need for well-trained and certified professionals, capable of recognizing system vulnerabilities and mitigating threats.
