The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on the global business environment, with companies needing to transform their business models and leverage online platforms to sustain operations. Having organised the Summer Virtual Expo, which is currently ongoing, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is following up with a more advanced version, Summer Sourcing Weeks | Go ONLINE, which will run from 27 July to 7 August. This 9-in-1 virtual trade exhibition will provide a one-stop cross-industry online sourcing platform, opening up new opportunities for global exhibitors and buyers during the pandemic.
Over 82 Indian companies have already registered in the virtual trade exhibition to explore global opportunities. Indian buyers have shown interest in lighting, electronics, information and communication technology, gifts and premiums ad houseware. Predictably, there is specific interest in a wide range of anti-pandemic smart houseware, lifestyle products, etc. will be displayed on the platform.
Summer Sourcing Weeks is a virtual exhibition that brings together nine trade fairs covering lighting, electronics, information and communications technology (ICT), medical and healthcare, houseware, fashion, home textiles and furnishings, gifts and premiums, as well as printing and packaging. The HKTDC’s debut self-service online sourcing platform allows companies to stay connected with global buyers for online opportunities, helping to overcome some of the challenges resulting from the pandemic.
Summer Sourcing Week works as an integrated service platform with a variety of new functions helping buyers to acquire all-round product and market information. Features include Click2Match, a brand-new artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled business matching platform that facilitates smart business matching and transactions using big data and AI technology. A variety of cross-industry products will be displayed on the platform, including a wide range of anti-pandemic smart houseware and lifestyle products that can fuel business opportunities presented by the stay-at-home economy.
