Healthify has announced the global rollout of Ria Voice, a real-time, multimodal AI health coach that fundamentally reimagines the human-AI coaching relationship. Grounded in Healthify’s real-world coach-client information with the safety standards essential for handling sensitive data, and built on OpenAI’s cutting-edge Realtime API, Ria Voice is the first commercially available coach, capable of true speech-to-speech interaction - listening, seeing, and reasoning to deliver instant, context-aware and guidance.
Ria Voice represents the 3.0 evolution of Healthify’s AI stack. Unlike previous generation chatbots that relied on transcribing speech to text before generating a response, Ria Voice operates natively in audio. This means fluid, interruptible conversations where the AI can detect emotion, handle complex accents and respond with human-level speed.
Built on Healthify’s long-running AI coach, the new experience ingests and synthesizes data across nutrition, fitness, stress, sleep, glucose, heart rate, and body composition.
This extends Healthify’s existing collaboration with OpenAI. First showcased as an Alpha version at OpenAI’s DevDay in San Francisco in December 2024, Ria Voice is now the first multimodal health and wellness agent of its kind to hit production globally
“Our mission at Healthify has always been to put a personal coach in your pocket. With Ria Voice, we’re finally able to bring that vision to life at global scale” said Tushar Vashisht, Co-Founder & CEO Healthify. “By leveraging OpenAI’s Realtime API, Ria can understand your food, fitness, sleep, stress, and metabolic data in one place, speak your language, and respond with low latency. We believe this kind of AI-powered, human-like coaching can fundamentally change how the world thinks about everyday health”.
“The goal of our Realtime API is to transform voice AI from a static interface into a conversational experience. Healthify has leveraged this capability to build a coach that is not only fast and responsive, but also capable of the nuance required for personal wellness. Ria Voice demonstrates how multimodal AI can support consumers in a way that feels natural, accessible and deeply helpful”, said Pragya Misra, Head of Strategy & Global Affairs, India at OpenAI.
Key Capabilities: Ria Voice (Ria 3.0)
Real-time voice coaching in 60+ languages: Users can talk to Ria anytime, anywhere. It supports 14+ Indian languages (including English, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil), 50+ global languages, and handles code-mixed speech (like Hinglish or Spanglish) out of the box, ensuring natural communication for diverse use cases.
Multimodal: voice + vision + health data: Users can speak, show (via camera), or let Ria read their health streams. A user can simply say, “I had a salad, some chicken, roti, rice, dal and fruit for dinner,” or point to a plate of food and Ria will auto-log the meal. This eliminates the friction of manual entry and database scrolling.
Grounded in real-world coaching data: Ria is trained and refined on hundreds of millions of messages between Healthify’s customers and its human coaches and dietitians, making its guidance more practical, empathetic, and behaviour aware.
Capable of generating highly personalised diet plans: Ria now enables users across the world to create diet plans based on their varied preferences and goals. Whether it is avoiding certain foods, managing allergies or balancing macros.
Ria Voice is also available beyond the Healthify app on platforms like WhatsApp (message on +91 80 4599 8815) and Smart Glasses. Along with Snap (Healthify’s photo-based calorie tracker), it now works with Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, letting users talk to it hands-free, without looking at their phone. Users can also take photos of their food on Meta Smart Glass and Healthify tracks it from the gallery, making it amongst the first health apps built natively for Meta’s smart glasses ecosystem.
