The mobile app complements the DocStar enterprise content management and process automation platform, extending functionality via mobility. Workers are empowered to be more productive and responsive by staying connected to business content, processes and coworkers seamlessly anytime, anywhere. Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth, announced that its free DocStar ECM Mobile App is now available on the App Store and Google Play.
The DocStar ECM Mobile App delivers secure and quick access to the DocStar ECM repository, enabling users to gain timely workflow approval from their mobile devices. Users can email files in the same manner as the DocStar ECM desktop version, where document access is granted in a seamless, secure fashion via a unique URL or password-protected, encrypted attachment.
The app features an elegantly simple user experience with powerful functionality to streamline user tasks, such as workflow approval. Time-stamped audit trails support compliance and corporate governance requirements.
“We are empowering our users to scale, modernize, and transform business operations with the cloud and mobility,” said Tom Franceski, vice president and general manager of DocStar. “The DocStar ECM Mobile App delivers flexibility with real-time mobile access.”
In CMS-Connected’s recap, The ECM Market: What Happened in 2017 & What's Next in 2018, Venus Tamturk underscores the importance of mobility and usability: “With the introduction of the iPhone in 2007 which marked the mobile revolution, users’ expectations of the web and digital experiences have entirely changed. Since then, usability has always been the functionality that no vendor would want to compromise on. It won’t change in 2018 either. In fact, a focus on usability will become even more important considering 75 percent of the workforce will be millennials by 2020, and this new generation is not known for their high tolerance of cumbersome and lacking features, as they are used to working with fast technology solutions.”
