L&T Bags Infrastructure Development Orders Worth RS 1296 Crore

Industrial conglomerate Larsen and Toubro (L&T) said its construction arm has bagged contracts worth Rs 1,296 crore for metallurgical and material handling along with water and effluent treatment.

In the metallurgical and material handling segment, the company has received orders worth Rs 808 crore "from Hindalco at Rayagada, Odisha, and JSW at Dolvi, Maharashtra", L&T said in a regulatory filing to the BSE.

The company received another order worth Rs 488 crore from Karnataka Power Corp for the execution of a water supply pipeline from Narayanpur reservoir to Kushtagi in the Krishna basin, as per the statement.

"The scope includes supply and laying of water supply pipelines including all electro-mechanical works," it said, adding that the project aims to augment water requirements for Karnataka Power Corp's existing power plant at Bellary.
