In a bid to strengthen Goa’s positioning as a hub for #WorkationGoa, the Government of Goa is advancing the development of dedicated workation hubs at Morjim, Ashvem, and Colva. These Multi-Convenience Centres will offer coworking infrastructure and essential amenities, catering to the growing community of digital nomads and remote professionals choosing to live and work from Goa.
The Goa Information Technology Development Corporation (GITDC) is leading the project under a Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) model. Each workation hub will be developed on a 20-year concession, with a possible 10-year extension. The project at Morjim is already underway, Ashvem is nearing finalisation, and the Colva plan is progressing with the support of the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (ITE&C).
These developments were discussed during a recent meeting with the Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, along with the Director of ITE&C and Managing Director of GITDC, Shri Kabir Shirgaonkar.
Each location will feature a fully functional workation hub equipped with high-speed internet, comfortable seating, collaborative work zones, and essential facilities. Classified as multi-utility structures, these hubs will serve as coworking spaces and lounges with showers and rest areas — perfect for travelers looking to combine work with leisure. Designed to offer a seamless blend of convenience and lifestyle, these hubs will make it easier for professionals to stay longer and experience the unique spirit of Goa.
This initiative aligns with the Goa Startup Policy, which supports the development of coworking spaces through lease rental reimbursements, capital incentives, and infrastructure support for ventures operating from approved facilities. With this step, Goa continues to build a future-ready ecosystem where work meets quality of life, creating new opportunities across the coastal belt
