In a sustained commitment to environmental responsibility and rural development, the Trident Group, India’s global textile conglomerate, has reaffirmed its leadership in combating stubble burning through its flagship CSR initiative, Parali Samadhan. The initiative continues to support farmers by offering free machinery access, technical guidance, and on-ground assistance to manage paddy stubble responsibly across nearly 2,000 acres in the villages in and around the Barnala district, Punjab.

Implemented through Trident Group’s dedicated CSR wing Trident Foundation, the initiative addresses one of North India’s most persistent environmental challenges - open-field stubble burning - through scientific stubble processing techniques and by promoting responsible residue management.

Over the past few years, the Parali Samadhan Initiative has significantly contributed to reducing seasonal smog and related health hazards by fostering awareness among farmers about the long-term ecological benefits of eliminating burning. The initiative aligns with the national mission to eliminate stubble burning and strengthens India’s progress toward global climate commitments, contributing to Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) such as Climate Action (SDG 13), and Life on Land (SDG 15).

The region where the initiative is implemented has already recorded a notable decline in stubble burning incidents over recent years, a positive development attributed to coordinated community engagement, policy support, and sustained corporate intervention.

Parali Samadhan Initiative is more than a CSR initiative, it is a partnership with farmers to ensure cleaner skies, healthier ecosystems, and more sustainable livelihoods. With Parali Samadhan, Trident is not only helping rural communities adopt climate-resilient farming but also driving a meaningful shift from pollution to purpose and turning stubble into sustainability. Beyond its environmental impact, Trident Foundation continues to advance social development through initiatives in education, healthcare, skill-building, and community welfare across Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.
