TCS announced the winners of the 26th Rural IT Quiz at Bengaluru Tech Summit, honoring students with scholarships and celebrating nationwide student participation.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions, in collaboration with the Department of Electronics, IT & BT, Government of Karnataka, announced the winners of the 26th edition of the TCS Rural IT Quiz. The national finals were held on November 20, 2025, as part of the Bengaluru Tech Summit.

Pratham Chetan Dand from Shree M. J. C. K. R. Higher Secondary School, Songadh Gujarat emerged as the National Final champion, while Anish Nauso Shetye - Dr. K. B. Hedgewar Vidyamandir, Sankhalim Goa

secured the runner-up position. TCS felicitated both students with educational scholarships of Rs 1,00,000 and Rs 50,000, respectively. The finalists also received scholarships of Rs 10,000 from TCS.

This year, the quiz attracted participation from over 5.62 lakh students from smaller towns in India. Open to students from classes 8 to 12, the program included online tests, virtual rounds, and physical quiz competitions. The national finals assessed students' knowledge in technology through five engaging segments. The eight regional finalists who qualified for the national finals included:

-          Roop Raunak : JPN Sarvodya Vidyalaya school, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh

-          Vishal Likhitkar: Govt. Sandipani Higher Secondary School, Indore, Madhya Pradesh

-          Pratham Chetan Dand : Shree M. J. C. K. R. Higher Secondary School, Songadh Gujarat

-          B. Jaya Raghavendra – Andhra Pradesh Residential School, Guntur Andhra Pradesh

-          Shivam M Thakare: JD Choudhari JR Science College, Wardha Maharashtra

-          KR Bhagath Surya – Sri Saraswathi Vidyaniketana, Anekal Karnataka

-          Shubham Choudhari: BSP Senior Secondary School, Bhilai Chhattisgarh

-          Anish Nauso Shetye - Dr. K. B. Hedgewar Vidyamandir, Sankhalim Goa

The awards were presented by Sunil Deshpande, Regional Head, TCS Bengaluru and Rahul Sharanappa Sankanur – Director, Electronics IT & BT and MD - Karnataka Innovation & Technology Society, Government of Karnataka.

TCS has been organizing the Rural IT Quiz in association with the Department of Electronics, IT & BT, Government of Karnataka, since the year 2000. The objective has always been to enhance IT awareness amongst students from smaller towns and districts across India, keeping them abreast of the latest developments in the world of technology. The program has reached over 21.5 million students till date and is recognized by the Limca Book of Records as the first IT Quiz for rural students in India.
