Rapido, India’s leading ride-sharing platform, has partnered with the Jaipur Police Commissionerate to promote a safer and more inclusive mobility ecosystem for women. As part of this collaboration, a week-long awareness campaign titled “सशक्त नारी – जिम्मेदारी हमारी” (Empowered Women – Our Responsibility) was conducted across the Jaipur Commissionerate from 20th to 26th August 2025. Strengthening this effort, Rapido is equipping 100 cabs in its Jaipur fleet with dashcams to enhance ride monitoring and enable faster emergency response, reinforcing its commitment to providing safe, reliable, and empowering mobility solutions for women
The initiative was flagged off by Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph and Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajarshi Raj, who echoed that women’s safety is a shared responsibility between citizens, service providers, and law enforcement.
Mr. Rajarshi Raj, DCP, Jaipur, said, "Women’s safety is a collective responsibility that goes beyond the role of the police. When communities, technology partners, and law enforcement work together, we can create a safer and more supportive environment for women. Initiatives like this campaign help build confidence, enabling women to move freely for work, education, and daily life. सशक्त नारी – जिम्मेदारी हमारी is an important step towards creating an inclusive and safe ecosystem in Jaipur.
Mr. Sudipta Sen, Senior Manager – Rapido Cabs, said, "At Rapido, safety is not an add-on; it is the foundation of every ride. With 40% of cab users in Jaipur being women, our collaboration with Jaipur Police focuses on practical measures that can make every journey safer and more reassuring. By introducing dashcams, providing 24x7 support, and driving awareness campaigns, we are working to make mobility safer, inclusive, and truly empowering for women. Our goal is to ensure that every woman in Jaipur should be able to travel with confidence and see mobility as a catalyst for her independence and participation in the city’s growth.”
The installation of 100 dashcams in Rapido’s Jaipur fleet adds a powerful layer to its existing safety measures, which include an SOS feature in the app, call masking for women customers, post-10 pm safety checks and real-time ride tracking. Together, these safeguards create a transparent and responsive system that makes mobility safe and reassuring for women. Through “सशक्त नारी – जिम्मेदारी हमारी,” Rapido and Jaipur Police demonstrated how united efforts between technology, community, and law enforcement create a lasting impact. This initiative goes beyond awareness, delivering concrete safety measures that make Jaipur’s rides and streets safer, more inclusive, and truly empowering for women. The week featured awareness drives, community outreach, and on-ground activities to educate citizens on preventive measures, reporting channels, and the role of public participation in women’s safety.
