The 7th edition of the CHAIROS Bheemaiah Hockey Cup 2026 concluded on a high note today at the Field Marshal K. M. Cariappa Hockey Arena, Bengaluru, reaffirming its growing stature as one of Karnataka’s most exciting grassroots hockey tournaments. Organised by the Coorg Challengers Chickpet Association (CCCA) under the aegis of Hockey India and Hockey Karnataka, the three-day tournament, held from 20th to 22nd February 2026, once again witnessed QNET, the leading e-commerce enabled direct selling company, come on board as the Title Sponsor, reinforcing its commitment to sports development and community engagement.

The tournament featured the thrilling 5A-Side format, known for its speed, skill and high-intensity gameplay, delivering fast-paced encounters that kept spectators engaged throughout the three days. A total of 18 teams from across the country competed in fiercely contested matches, with several national-level players adding depth and competitive intensity to the event. In a gripping final, Coorg Hawks defeated Pale Taluk with a scoreline of 7–5 to lift the Winner’s Trophy. The teams in third and fourthposition were Southern Command and DYES Karnataka respectively. Additionally, the Shootout Competition Trophy was presented to SAI (Sports Authority of India) STC for winning the special Shootout Competition. 

The closing ceremony on Day 3 was graced by Arjuna Awardee and former Indian Field Hockey Olympian goalkeeperAB Subbaiah, who felicitated the winners and commended the organisers for sustaining a competitive platform that nurtures emerging talent. Subbaiah emphasised the importance of grassroots tournaments in strengthening India’s hockey ecosystem and inspiring the next generation of players. 

Other dignitaries who attended the event were Anil Alexander Aldrin - Asian Games Gold Medallist and Former Captain of the Indian hockey team, V.S. Vinaya - Former Indian hockey player, Karnataka State Representative and Coach at Hockey Karnataka, Abharan Sudev - Indian hockey player, Karnataka State Representative and emerging defender, Mohammed Raheel Mouseen - International hockey player and a part of the Indian’s men team, Kaliyanda Bharath - International hockey player, Karnataka Representative and defender and Chelsea Medappa - Karnataka hockey player, National Championship competitor and Defender.
