PDRL, a leading force in drone technology announces a major advancement with the grant of a patent for its innovative corridor survey method. This new patent underscores PDRL’s dedication to providing high-precision, efficient drone solutions, designed to meet the industry’s shifting demands as land surveys increasingly embrace drone technology.

According to last year’s report, the Indian drone survey industry saw significant growth of approximately 40%, reaching a market value of around ₹800 crore. This growth underscores the increasing demand for drone applications in infrastructure projects and government initiatives, including Swamitva (for rural land mapping) and DILRMP. Additionally, private sector adoption has surged in real estate, telecom, and agriculture, which accounted for about 60% of all drone survey applications. Today, around 70% of infrastructure projects in India are already utilising drone surveys, particularly in highways, railways, smart city developments, and mining projects for safe, efficient data collection.

This corridor survey method developed by PDRL is designed to elevate the standards in surveying narrow, linear infrastructure such as roads, railways, and pipelines. Through this patented method, data collection for these projects becomes more accurate, and efficient, enabling organisations to gain crucial insights faster and make better-informed decisions.

Commenting on this milestone, Mr. Anil Chandaliya, CEO of PDRL, stated, “We are excited to bring this new innovation to the industry. The patented corridor survey method is a significant leap forward, enabling faster, more precise surveying that can drive project success for our partners and customers. This patent shows the thrust of Made in India products and indigenization of drone technology”.

With this patent, PDRL strengthens its position as an innovator in advanced drone technologies. As the company broadens its technology portfolio, it is paving the way for intelligent, transformative solutions within the drone tech industry, setting new standards for aerial surveying and solidifying its leadership in shaping the future of infrastructure mapping.
