Central Executive Committee Members of Indian Industries Association (IIA), an apex body of MSME in India elected Mr. Pankaj Kumar as its National President for the year 2020-21 for the consecutively second year in the online meeting held. Shri G.C. Chaturvedi, Election Officer & Former President of IIA started this election process about two months ago, the result of which was announced.
Born in the year 1956 in Meerut, Shri Pankaj Kumar is an Electrical Engineer from MNR Regional Engineering College Allahabad. Mr. Gupta served in Bhutan from 1980 to 1985 as a Lecturer in Engineering College and from 1985 to 1994 served in Private Company as a Technical Manager. In year 1994 Shri Pankaj Kumar started his own company in Transformers Manufacturing with the name of A-Powertech Electricals Pvt Ltd in Meerut. He is associated with IIA since 1994 and has held several positions in the Association at Chapter, Divisional, State and National levels in the past.
Immediately after his election as National President of IIA, Mr. Pankaj Kumar highlighted his priorities for the year 2020-21 (commencing from 1 July 2020) and stated that he would work for the development of MSMEs. Among his priorities, Mr. Kumar has decided to increase the membership of IIA, export promotion, industries establishment in UP Defense Corridor, MSME Survey and Research and expansion of IIA chapters in other states.
Shri Pankaj Kumar further said that not only do we have to fight the situation arising out of the COVID-19 epidemic but we should also take advantage of the new business opportunities generated by it. The call of self-reliant India by the Hon’ble Prime Minister should be taken by the MSMEs and country seriously and to take this as an opportunity. Certainly some businesses have come under difficulty due to the COVID-19 epidemic, but other businesses are slowly starting and the doors of new business are also opening. Promotion of MSME is also the priority of the state and central government, we will definitely get the benefit of it.
Shri Pankaj Kumar also reiterated the pledge to sign the MoU with the UP Government in the presence of the Honorable Chief Minister to provide employment to the migrant labels and its implementation.
