SVKM's NMIMS Hyderabad hosted a grand convocation ceremony for the UG batch of 2024 on August 24, 2024, at the auditorium of the Jadcherla Campus. Degrees were conferred to graduating students from the NMIMS School of Pharmacy and Technology Management, School of Law, School of Commerce, and School of Science.
Mr Seshasaye Kanthamraju, CEO of Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, was the esteemed chief guest, while Shri. Bharat M Sanghvi, the Nominee of the Hon'ble Chancellor, SVKM'S NMIMS, presided over the gathering. The event was also graced by other notable dignitaries, including Dr Ramesh Bhat, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor NMIMS and Dr Seema Gupta, Director, SVKM'S NMIMS, Hyderabad. Faculty, staff, students, and parents were among the other attendees.
The event began with a cordial reception of the graduating students and the guests who proudly accompanied them to celebrate their momentous day. Soon after, the distinguished academic procession entered the auditorium, carrying an air of reverence and solemnity, after the initial formalities, including the lighting of the lamp, invocation, and NMIMS anthem, Shri. Bharat M Sanghvi, the Nominee of the Hon'ble Chancellor, officially declared the convocation open and felicitated the chief guest of the ceremony.
Dr Ramesh Bhat, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor of NMIMS, took centre stage to address the students and congratulate them on their years of hard work, perseverance, and determination, which have culminated in resounding success. He remarked, “As you embark on this exciting new chapter, remember that your actions are your fingerprints, leaving an indelible mark on the world. Carry forward the lessons and experiences you've gained at NMIMS, and step forward with courage, determination, and a steadfast commitment to excellence.” He also acknowledged the professors and parents for their constant guidance, support, and encouragement throughout the students' academic journey.
Dr Seema Gupta, Director, SVKM'S NMIMS, Hyderabad, shared the director's report, proudly discussing, " At NMIMS Hyderabad, we've built a strong community and laid the foundation for a bright future. As our graduates step into the world, they carry the knowledge, skills, and values to shape a better tomorrow. Congratulations to the Class of 2024! With each passing year, our institute climbs higher on the ladder of success, thanks to our students' relentless pursuit of excellence and our faculty's dedication to adapting to modern needs. Today, NMIMS Hyderabad stands as a beacon of academic and professional excellence." Upon hearing the inspiring words, everyone in the auditorium beamed with pride and broke into applause.
After the director's report showcase, the degrees were presented to the graduating students of the NMIMS School of Pharmacy and Management, School of Law, School of Commerce, and School of Science, recognising and appreciating their education and training efforts. Scholarly awards were honoured to students who soared beyond all expectations and made the institute proud through their commitment to academic excellence.
Following that, the esteemed dignitaries of SVKM's NMIMS conducted the oath-taking ceremony. The auditorium reverberated with a wholehearted 'I', promising to uphold the dignity of their university, profession, and country. They pledged to stay committed to work ethics, human welfare, sustainability values, and global integrity. The graduating students undertook the responsibility to participate in continuing education and expand their capabilities to benefit society at large.
During the ceremony, BBA (Hons) student Chitkarsh Saraogi and B.Com (Hons) student Chitrakshi Ratnaparkey received awards in recognition of their academic achievements. Subsequently, faculty members Dr. Aashish Biswas and Dr. Molly Chaturvedi were acknowledged for their unwavering commitment to the students and the institution. Dr. Rahul Maheswari was presented with an award in recognition of his exceptional contributions to university research.
The ceremony concluded with an impactful convocation address by the Chief Guest, Shri. Seshasaye Kanthamraju, CEO of Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. He stated, " Getting a job is only five percent of the overall task. Ninety-five percent of it is really about enjoying the job. It's really about being able to do the job much better than someone else can. So, that's the real excitement. So, make sure that in the jobs you choose, and the roles that you play, you really understand what you're getting into. Be passionate about whatever you do in life."
As the grand convocation ceremony at NMIMS Hyderabad ended, it marked the beginning of a new phase for the graduates. Everyone left the auditorium motivated and energised to achieve their goals and move forward professionally.
