MAHE Bengaluru Concludes Debut Quiz, Inspires Academic Aspirations

The Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Bengaluru, proudly announces the conclusion of its pioneering MIQ (MAHE B’LRU INTERSCHOOL QUIZ) on January 5, 2024, at Bengaluru Campus, Govindapura, Yelahanka. This landmark event brought together young minds from more than 3500 schools, creating an atmosphere and spirit of intellectual competition and significance of teamwork and collaboration. It was inaugurated by the esteemed Prof. (Dr.) Madhu Veeraraghavan, Pro Vice-Chancellor, MAHE Bengaluru.

 

The grand finale was conducted under the leadership of the quizmaster, Venkatesh S (Venky) which witnessed tight competition among 24 finalists, emerging from six distinct zones – East, Central, West, North, South and Bengaluru. It spanned a variety of academic disciplines, showcasing participants’ depth of knowledge, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work seamlessly in a team.

 

Hansel Riju Mathew and Varun Goyal from Christ Academy, Bengaluru emerged as winner and were awarded a grand prize of INR 1,50,000, along with trophies and recognition. Second place went to Ronit Bothra and Kushagra Om from GD Goenka Public School, Siliguri, with a prize of INR 1,00,000, while Aryan Ghosh and S Ashwanth from AMM School, Chennai secured third place and INR 50,000.

 

Prof. Madhu Veeraraghavan, Pro Vice Chancellor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Bengaluru, said, “As we celebrate the inter-school quiz's successful completion, I am proud of and in awe of the extraordinary talents that the young brains in attendance have demonstrated. There are no limits to the pursuit of knowledge, and today's event is a brilliant illustration of the intellectual vitality in our school community. Thank you to everyone who took the quiz, the teachers who helped, and the organizers for making it a huge success. May this encounter spark a lifelong love of education, inquisitiveness, and teamwork. You have only just begun your quest for wisdom, and I have no doubt that every one of you has the capacity to build a more promising future”.

 

Welcoming the students to the debut quiz Dr Raghavendra Prabhu, Deputy Registrar, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Bengaluru said, “I am excited to see students who made to the finale today. We had several hundreds of teams participating from across the length to present the country in online rounds that we conducted to distill it down to 24 teams who are present here. So warm welcome once again to all of you and thank you for making it here and making this a memorable first edition, national level edition of MIQ. We are excited to make this an annual event and looking forward to empowering many more young minds like you”.
