Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and BOBCARD LIMITED, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of Baroda, came together at a special felicitation event held at the MAHE campus in Manipal to celebrate inclusion, accessibility, and excellence. Jointly hosted by MAHE and BOBCARD, the event honoured the Indian Blind Women’s Cricket Team, winners of the 1st Blind Women’s Cricket T20 World Cup, marking a historic milestone for Indian sport. The collaboration reflected a shared commitment by both institutions to advance inclusive ecosystems-MAHE through education and social impact, and BOBCARD through responsible and accessible financial innovation.
Anchored in this shared vision, the event brought together MAHE’s long-standing leadership in championing accessibility and equal opportunity with BOBCARD’s philosophy of reimagining credit through empathy and thoughtful design. As part of the occasion, BOBCARD introduced the Braille-enabled BOBCARD PREMIER Credit Card, aligning the launch with the celebration of a new generation of Women in Blue and reinforcing the belief that accessibility should be embedded into everyday systems that shape modern life. Members of the championship team were felicitated at the event, recognising not only their sporting achievement but also their role as inspiring advocates for inclusion and resilience.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr H S Ballal, Pro Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, said “It is a privilege for MAHE to felicitate the Indian Blind Women’s Cricket Team, whose achievements stand as a powerful testament to courage, perseverance, and excellence against all odds. We are equally grateful to BOBCARD for launching the Braille Card on this occasion, a significant step towards financial inclusion and accessibility. Such initiatives reflect our shared commitment to empowering persons with disabilities and building a more inclusive society.”
“At BOBCARD, we believe inclusion must be intentional and built into product design. By introducing the Braille-enabled BOBCARD PREMIER Credit Card with the Indian Blind Women’s Cricket Team, we are underscoring our commitment to accessibility through thoughtful, mainstream product design. Their journey and achievements add deeper purpose to this step as we continue to reimagine credit for India.”, asserted Ravindra Rai, Managing Director & CEO, BOBCARD Limited, on the card launch.
Alongside its inclusive design, the BOBCARD PREMIER Credit Card offers a curated suite of premium lifestyle and reward-led benefits. Cardholders earn accelerated reward points on travel, international, dining, and select lifestyle spends, along with access to curated dining offers and privileges across leading brands.
The card also provides travel-focused benefits, including complimentary airport lounge access at select domestic lounges, supporting a seamless and comfortable travel experience. Additional shopping and lifestyle privileges further enhance the card’s appeal for customers seeking a well-rounded premium offering.
The Braille-enabled BOBCARD PREMIER Credit Card has been designed to support greater ease of identification and usability for visually impaired customers, enabling them to use their cards with greater confidence during everyday transactions. By combining inclusive design with premium benefits, BOBCARD reinforces that accessibility and value can coexist within the same product framework.
