IIM Jammu Conducts Onsite Communication Programme for HAL

IIM Jammu Inaugurates Onsite Business Communication & Presentation Skills Programme for Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bengaluru, on 07 January 2025. Indian Institute of Management Jammu inaugurated the four-day Onsite Business Communication & Presentation Skills Programme for officials of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) at HAL Management Academy, Bengaluru. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu (Online Mode).

Shri Arup Kumar Mallick, Executive Director (ED), HAL Management Academy DPSU graced the inaugural ceremony in person, Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu also graced the occasion (Online Mode). Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consulting (EE & C), IIM Jammu, was also present online. Faculty Members - Dr. Gaana J (Program Director) and Dr. Sundar R (Program Director), Dr. Apurva were present in person. Ms Rajashree, Program coordinator, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) also graced the inaugural ceremony

The programme has been designed to strengthen strategic communication, executive presence, and high-impact presentation capabilities among professionals operating in leadership-driven environments. It aims to transform participants into confident communicators capable of influencing leadership, stakeholders, and board-level decision-making through structured messaging, persuasive storytelling, and technology-enabled presentation design.

Moving beyond conventional presentation skills, the programme integrates modern digital tools, visual storytelling techniques, behavioral insights, executive presence development, and advanced communication frameworks. The pedagogy emphasizes experiential learning through hands-on digital tool usage, design labs, live presentations, peer review, and collaborative exercises using platforms such as Canva, Prezi, GenAI tools, Power BI, and Tableau.

The programme focuses on enabling participants to design high-impact presentations, communicate complex ideas with clarity and storytelling, strengthen delivery effectiveness, and influence decision-makers through strategic and adaptive communication approaches. Participants will gain competencies in crafting visually compelling decks, building persuasive narratives, mastering non-verbal leadership signals, applying linguistic framing, leveraging AI-powered content development, and utilizing data visualization for executive decision-making.

The training programme is being delivered by a distinguished faculty team comprising Dr. Gaana J., Dr. Apurva, Dr. Sundar R., and Dr. Chinmaya Kumar Swain, with Dr. Gaana J. and Dr. Sundar R. serving as Programme Directors.

The four-day programme reflects IIM Jammu’s continued commitment to delivering industry-aligned executive education for leading public sector and corporate organizations. The collaboration with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited further reinforces the Institute’s focus on leadership excellence, communication capability, digital readiness, and national capacity building

The inaugural session concluded with an overview of the programme structure, learning methodology, and expected outcomes, followed by an interactive exchange with the participating executives.
