IIM Jammu Advances Faculty Leadership Development Initiative

The Indian Institute of Management Jammu concluded the 16th batch of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme, an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The five-day intensive program culminated in a valedictory ceremony held at the Jagti Campus, marking the successful completion of training by 16 faculty participants from diverse institutions across the country.

The valedictory ceremony was graced by Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, Program Directors, Dr. Shivani Sachdev and Dr. V. Raj Kumar. Faculty members and officials from the Executive Education and Consultancy team were also present on the occasion.

Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, highlighted the immense value of cross-learning opportunities that emerged through the diverse experiences and perspectives shared by the participants. He described the programme as a significant and commendable initiative by the Government, aimed at strengthening leadership capacity and institutional effectiveness.Expressing gratitude for the constructive feedback received, he assured the participants that their suggestions would be thoughtfully considered and incorporated into future programmes to further enhance the learning experience. He conveyed his hope to welcome them again for future engagements and wished them a pleasant and safe journey ahead.

Dr. V. Raj Kumar, Program Director, IIM Jammu, in his address presented a comprehensive report of the five-day programme, highlighting its key sessions, thematic focus, and participant engagement. He encouraged the participants to consciously reflect upon their learnings and translate them into actionable insights within their respective institutions.Emphasizing the essence of the programme, he noted that the sessions were designed to cultivate leadership awareness, reinforcing the idea that leadership is not confined to positions but is embodied by every individual who works consistently toward a shared vision. He urged participants to continue nurturing these leadership competencies and expressed hope that future batches would further strengthen this collective journey of growth and transformation.

The programme concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Shivani Sachdev, Programme Director, IIM Jammu.Dr. Shivani Sachdev expressed her sincere appreciation for the enthusiastic participation, intellectual engagement, and scholarly exchange that enriched the sessions over the five days. She observed that the programme was thoughtfully designed to nurture reflective leaders—individuals equipped not only with conceptual clarity but also with the vision and commitment to drive meaningful academic transformation within their respective institutions.

Participants shared their reflections and expressed sincere appreciation for the overall conduct of the programme. They highlighted the excellent administrative support, comfortable stay, warm hospitality, and the enriching academic sessions. The lectures were described as highly insightful and theoretically strong, while participants also suggested that the inclusion of more practice-based and hands-on sessions would further strengthen the learning experience.They fondly recalled the vibrant cultural evening, the well-organized city tour, and the delightful local cuisine, which added memorable dimensions to their visit and fostered camaraderie among peers.

During the ceremony, participants articulated their key takeaways, acknowledging the programme’s strong emphasis on experiential learning, case-based discussions, multidisciplinary perspectives, and peer collaboration. Certificates were distributed to all participants in recognition of their successful completion of the programme. The participants extended heartfelt thanks to their colleagues and the organizing team for fostering a collaborative, engaging, and enriching experience throughout the programme.

The Nurturing Future Leadership Program continues to strengthen IIM Jammu’s role as a national hub for capacity building and academic leadership development. Coordinated by the Executive Education and Consultancy vertical, the initiative reflects the Institute’s sustained commitment to excellence, institutional growth, and nation-building through empowered educators.
