Indian Energy Exchange (IEX), India’s premier electricity exchange, through its CSR initiative Project Netra Shakti, aims to empower visually impaired individuals by enabling access to advanced assistive technology.
Building on this vision, IEX formally inaugurated “Project Netra Shakti” on December 16, 2025 in the presence of Ms. Ayushi Dabas, IAS, SDM of Vasant Vihar, Delhi. The programme is aimed at addressing persistent accessibility gaps by enabling greater independence, dignity, and inclusion for persons with visual impairment.
Under this initiative, IEX will support 135 visually impaired beneficiaries, with a focus on students aged 18–25 years. The programme provides AI-powered assistive devices developed by TorchIT Electronics Private Limited, such as Saarthi Smart Cane, which enables safe and independent mobility, and the Jyoti AI Pro Smart Glasses, designed to assist users in reading printed text, identifying currency and medicines, recognising faces, and navigating everyday environments with greater confidence.
Project Netra Shakti aligns with IEX’s CSR Policy, with a continued focus on healthcare, education, and livelihood, while placing inclusion and accessibility at the centre of social impact initiatives. By partnering with TorchIT Electronics Private Limited, and directly engaging with beneficiaries, IEX aims to create sustainable, long-term impact beyond one-time support.
