Honeywell has announced the CS32 Personal Shopper, its first handheld computer for shoppers to facilitate and customise the retail experience within grocery stores, pharmacies and other retail stores across Europe. The Honeywell CS32 solution allows users to easily scan items while shopping, navigate the store using digital maps and make payments on the device from anywhere within the store, helping shoppers save time and avoid long checkout lines.
“Today’s shoppers increasingly want technology that simplifies their journey—allowing them to shop, pay and exit the store with ease,” said David Barker, president of Honeywell Productivity Solutions and Services. “Innovations like the Personal Shopper not only deliver a frictionless and convenient experience for consumers but also empower retailers with new opportunities to personalise and optimise the shopping experience for diverse customer needs.”
Featuring a fast, responsive Qualcomm chipset platform and extended battery life, the Honeywell CS32 Personal Shopper provides users with an intuitive and easy-to-use mobile shopping assistant. Shoppers can pick up the device at the store entrance in its wall-mounted charging station and then return it once they are finished shopping. By using scan-as-you-shop (SAYS) technology, the Personal Shopper benefits both consumers and retailers by enabling faster, more convenient checkouts while freeing up limited labour resources to focus on higher-value tasks in the store. As a result, shoppers can also use the technology to access detailed product information instantly, such as up-to-date pricing details and ingredient lists.
With a six-inch display screen, the Honeywell CS32 also has ample room to display a shopping list side-by-side with customisable ads and tailored special offers based on data from customer purchase histories. By offering tailored product recommendations and discounts, the technology also personalises the shopping experience and encourages brand loyalty for customers, while enabling retailers to capture additional sales and unlock revenue streams from Europe's booming retail media market.
