The Hyderabad Management Association (HMA), in collaboration with HEERA (HealthCare education economy Research Association) successfully organized the Pharma Leadership Conclave 2025 in The Hyderabad Central University Campus. The event brought together leaders from industry, academia, research, and policy to deliberate on the future of pharma innovation, compliance, and leadership in Bharat’s evolving global role.
Delivering the keynote, Mr. Alwala Devender Reddy, President of HMA, said “We are witnessing a historic shift. Bharat is no longer just a participant in the global order—it is helping shape it. Hyderabad is emerging as the epicenter of transformation: a strategic hub of AI-powered leadership, a pharma innovation capital, and a beacon of management excellence. Hyderabad’s role in vaccine diplomacy and pharma innovation, while drawing parallels between the growth of the city’s pharmaceutical ecosystem and HMA’s six-decade journey of nurturing management excellence."
Panel Discussions and Insights: Other distinguished speakers included Sharath Chandra Maroju, who presented HMA’s initiatives linking academia with entrepreneurs, and Anup Anvit Choudary, retired Director of Natco Pharma and Anup Avijit Choudury Dr. Reddy’s Labs, who called for R&D transformation towards complex generics, differentiated formulations, and cutting-edge innovations.
The Conclave featured dynamic sessions with thought leaders: Ajit Kumar Sathpathy stressed patient-centric and compliance-based medicine.
Sangram highlighted supply chain productivity emphasized the need for scientists to strengthen commercial and cross-functional focus.
Anshuman spoke on quality audits, internal audits, and performance measurement.
Patra Ranjan discussed balancing compliance and business through data-driven approaches.
In the second session, Mrs.Meeta Asthana inspired participants with the message: “The cure is in the connection. When regulators, researchers, and industry sync, patients and the planet win. Breakthroughs come from conversations, partnerships, and shared visions.”
“The changing geopolitical situations, right from the colonial era to the present dynamics of economic and political powers, India has sailed through,” observed IAS (Retd.) Ajai Mishra, setting the tone for the Pharma Leadership Conclave 2025 jointly organized by the Hyderabad Management Association (HMA) and HEERA at the University of Hyderabad campus.
Vice president of HMA Mr Sharat Chandra Maroju spoke about hma initiatives of EDP, IRP making students ready for job makers or job creators and are coming up with seminar along with industry, academia, policy makers to come up with skill gap report.
Gitam Director Dr Ramakanth Bal said HMA Heera collaboration will bridge the gap between pharma industry and academia.
