DPS, Newtown, Kolkata wins National Finals of Aqua Regia - The School Quiz 2025

Triumphant Institute of Management Education Pvt. Ltd. (T.I.M.E) a prominent test-preparation institution in India and its law entrance coaching division - CLATPrep, hosted the National Finals of the 2025 edition of ‘Aqua Regia – The School Quiz’ for student. The event took place at Dharmaram College Auditorium, Christ University, Bangalore. Formerly known as ‘Aqua Regia – The Science Quiz’, the competition had earned a Guinness World Record in 2007 for being the largest quiz ever held.

Aqua Regia 2025 Highlights

• Over 1.01 lakh students took the Preliminary Written Test.
• 3000+ teams qualified for the City Final Written Round.
• The top teams then competed in City/Zonal On-Stage Quizzes across 7 cities, followed by Regional Finals in 6 cities.
• The journey led the top teams to Bengaluru for the Regional and National Finals.

The National Finals ended on an electrifying note as the duo of Sayudh Ray and Sukrit Gupta from Delhi Public School, Newtown, Kolkata claimed the championship title, surpassing top contenders from across the country. The teams led by Aayush Bharadwaj and Prathyush of Vidya Mandir, Mylapore, Chennai and Parth Khatri and Kriti representing Jain Bharati Mrigavati Vidyalaya, Delhi secured the first and second runner-up positions respectively. Mr. Pramod Kumar, Founder Director of T.I.M.E. & Mr. Thomas George, Centre Director of T.I.M.E. Bangalore, honored the winners.

The Bangalore City Finals drew an exceptional response, with 400 students forming 200 teams from various schools after clearing the preliminary written rounds held across the garden city in the month of October & November 2025. Champions from the City Finals advanced to face contenders from Cochin and Thiruvananthapuram Zones in the Bangalore Regional Finals. The victorious team in the regional finals represented the Bangalore region in the national finals which also had teams from Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi. As a mark of appreciation, the national champions were awarded Laptops, while the runner-up teams received Mobile Phones. Quizmaster Bharat C Jain helmed the event, turning the competition into an energetic and memorable experience for all.

Over the years, more than 2.6 million students have taken part, turning regular classrooms into vibrant spaces of conversation, ideas, and healthy competition. The level of confidence and enthusiasm displayed by the students today shows how deeply they are connecting with knowledge.”

Aqua Regia is open to students of grades IX, X, XI, and XII across all streams, and it takes place in around 40 cities and towns nationwide, including major locations like Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, and Kolkata. Since its launch in 2006, this quiz has attracted participation from more than 2.6 million students across India. More than one lakh students from 12,000 schools across the country participated in the 2025 edition of Aqua Regia – The School Quiz.
