Go Digit General Insurance Limited, one of India’s leading new-age insurance companies, promoted the idea of simplicity at the much-coveted 8th edition of Bengaluru Poetry Festival held on August 3 and August 4 at the Grand Mercure Bengaluru.
Digit Insurance, which came in as the Title Sponsor for the festival, is a general insurance company headquartered in Bengaluru, that was founded in 2017 with an aim to make insurance simple.
The festival saw the literary space blending perfectly with the world of insurance as participants through various creative nudges and activities explored the idea of simplicity. Digit arena at the children's area saw kids doodling and colouring various concepts of insurance like coverage, protection, simplicity, safety on an 8-feet wall created at the venue.
The children also explored the “Simply Draw” section created by Digit where children drew their own perception of what came to their mind when they heard various prompts like, “Your favourite place to travel”, “Your dream car”, “A super safe home”, and “Your health booster” to ignite their creativity and imagination. At the Poetry Festival arena, visitors also took to the poetry wall of Digit where they scribbled poems on simple pleasures of life on a 10ft by 4ft wall and won various prizes for the same.
Speaking about the association, Tanya Marwah, Head – Marketing and Corporate Communications, Digit Insurance, said, “At Digit, we strive to always look for mediums to capture the essence of simplicity and insurance, which otherwise is sometimes seen as jargon-heavy or hard to comprehend. Using art as a medium is one of the most natural ways of connecting with humans and we are immensely delighted that through our association with Bengaluru Poetry Festival, we have been able to sow the seeds of simplicity through poetry.'
Shinie Antony, Festival Director of Bengaluru Poetry Festival, said, " Poetry is a form of self-expression that is gaining immense popularity not only in India, but also globally. Bengaluru Poetry Festival is a celebration of all things poetry, and we are delighted to see Bengaluru-based start-ups like Digit Insurance joining us on our endeavour to help promote this art form.”
This is Digit's second art association. In 2022, Digit collaborated with artists of ArtCFound wherein three artists from India depicted the perception of what it means to be protected and covered using Digit logo's play button as key visual.
The festival that saw a footfall of close to 10,000 people attracted a number of internationally recognized poets and artistes like the legendary Shankar Mahadevan, lyricist and comedian Varun Grover, industry legend Ila Arun, singer-songwriter Kavish Seth, O Gaanewali, biggest names in poetry including Ranjit Hoskote, Jayant Kaikini, Jeet Thayil, among others.
