Cummins India Limited (“Cummins India”), a leading power solutions technology provider, announced the launch of ‘REDEFINE 2025’, the 8th edition of its flagship business school (B-school) case study competition. Designed to empower young business minds, the competition invites participation from students across 19 premier B-schools nationwide, providing them with an opportunity to tackle real-world industry challenges.
The theme of this year’s competition, “From Backup to Backbone: Driving the Energy Shift,” reflects the growing need to adapt to a rapidly evolving energy landscape driven by renewables, decarbonization, and changing customer expectations. Participants are challenged to explore innovative service-led models such as Energy-as-a-Service, renewable integration, and grid-connected solutions. These models aim to address evolving energy needs in a sustainable and impactful manner.

REDEFINE 2025 is open to bona fide first and second-year students enrolled in the flagship PGP/PGDM/PGDBM/MBA programs. Featuring multiple rounds, the competition will conclude with a two-day grand finale at the Cummins India Office Campus in Pune, Maharashtra, on November 13 - 14, 2025. The winning team will receive a cash prize and an exclusive invitation to join Cummins India’s mentorship program, offering invaluable guidance from the organization’s leadership to enhance their capabilities as future business leaders.
The 2024 edition of REDEFINE witnessed a remarkable turnout, with 3,780 students participating across 1,260 teams from 18 leading institutions. The competition concluded with the team from Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD), Pune, emerging as champions, while the team from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Tiruchirappalli, secured the runner-up position.
