Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has signed an MoU with Triton Electric Vehicle (TEV), for the manufacturing of Hydrogen Fuel cells by BEL with technology transfer from TEV, to meet the requirements of the Indian market and mutually agreed export markets.
The MoU aims at tapping the demand for clean energy solutions for various applications including for E- Mobility, by leveraging the Government of India’s thrust for the adoption of clean energy fuels for applications in transport, energy storage etc.

At the DefExpo 2022 in Gandhinagar, TEV displayed a Defense hydrogen scooter along with a Special Purpose Off Road Dirt Bike. Also Displayed TEV’s flagship 5kw hydrogen system. Booth 18 Hall 2 also outdoor area. TEV is also developing Hydrogen Buses which will be another first for the Industry. The company is working on launching these hydrogen-powered busses very soon to the Indian Market.
TEV is working on building India’s global leadership in the area of Hydrogen run vehicles and innovative Electric Vehicles. Recently, on the occasion of India’s 76th Independence Day, Triton Electric Vehicle had unleashed it’s Hydrogen-Fuel Scooters designs.
TEV has a very strong and structured approach towards R&D. The area of the R&D facility is over One Lakh Fifty Thousand Square Feet and is located in Kheda, near Ahmedabad and it holds best-in-class infrastructure and expertise for the desired best-in-class vehicles. “We aim to ensure safe and secure vehicles for Indian roads that operate on clean fuel. The safety of our consumers and our vehicles will remain our top priority. We have chosen Hydrogen fuel for Scooters and Three-Wheelers because we realise the importance of the environment as well,” commented Mr Himanshu Patel.
