Avantel Limited has received an order with the Defence Electronics Applications Laboratory (DEAL), DRDO, valued at Rs 13.67 crore (including taxes). The contract entails the development and supply of Software Defined Radios (SDRs) as per specifications outlined by DEAL, a laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) operated by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The collaboration is a part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen domestic capabilities in the defence communication segment.
Avantel has previously undertaken projects in defence communications, including radar subsystems, SATCOM terminals, and network management systems. The delivery timelines outlined by DEAL is scheduled for completion by August 2027.
