Ambuja Cements, the cement and building material company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, as part of its CSR initiatives, is proud to spotlight the inspiring journey of Krishna Bodok, a homemaker-turned-entrepreneur from Mohisgot village in Sankrail block, West Bengal. What began as a single community meeting transformed her livelihood into a diversified agricultural enterprise generating Rs 2.5–3 lakh annually.

Encouraged by Ambuja Cements’ CSR team, Krishna adopted poly tunnel farming to grow off-season vegetables, followed by scaffolding for creepers like cucumber and bitter gourd. Her consistent reinvestment and training enabled her to lease land, diversify into exotic vegetables, and later expand into poultry and goat rearing.

Krishna’s journey exemplifies Ambuja Cements’ grassroots approach to rural empowerment—providing training, tools, and knowledge to women farmers to help them shift from survival-based farming to profitable, self-sustaining agri-businesses.
