Uttar Pradesh is a leading state in the country in the fields of food grains, milk production, and horticulture. In relation to this, at present, the capacity of processing food items in the state is less compare to national and international levels. By increasing the capacity of processing food items, on the one hand, the income of farmers will increase, employment opportunities will be created and it will help in achieving the government's target of 1 trillion-dollar economy by the year 2027.
Keeping the above facts in mind, the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Indian Industries Association (IIA) have jointly decided to promote Agro-Based MSME Industries in Uttar Pradesh. To achieve this objective, the following events will be organized concurrently at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan Lucknow from 2nd November to 4th November 2022: -
- Agro Based MSME Udyami Mahasammelan 2022, on 2nd November 2022 from 10 AM to 5:30 PM in Jupiter Hall Indira Gandhi Pratishthan.
- Biggest Exhibition of Food Processing Industries (India Food Expo-2022) 2nd to 4th November 2022 at Exhibition Ground Indira Gandhi Pratishthan Lucknow.
- National Seminar on Food Processing Industries on 3rd and 4th November starting at 10 am
Udyami Mahasammelan and India Food Expo-2022 will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath Ji. Minister of State, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, Minister of MSME, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Rakesh Sachan and Minister of State (Independent Charge) Department of Horticulture, Uttar Pradesh, Shri Dinesh Pratap Singh will also be present in the Inauguration Ceremony.
Senior officers of Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, Central Potato Research Institute, Indian Institute of Packaging, Central Food Technology Research Institute, Flavours and Fragrance Development Centre Kannauj, UPSIDA, Planning Department of Uttar Pradesh, Invest UP, NSIC and State Bank of India will address the delegates in this Udyami Mahasammelan. The technical sessions being organized in the Mahasammelan will be presided over by Agriculture Production Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary, Uttar Pradesh. Hon'ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Horticulture Shri Dinesh Pratap Singh will be the Chief Guest of the Closing Ceremony of the Mahasammelan.
The registration of youths interested in the food processing business for the Udyami Mahasammelan is open free of cost on a first come first serve basis.
More than 100 exhibitors from within the country and abroad are participating in the exhibition of food processing industries, India Food Expo 2022, which will be held from November 2 to 4 at the exhibition ground of Indira Gandhi Pratishthan from 10 am to 7 pm. In this exhibition, machines, equipment, services, and techniques are being displayed for the food processing industries, which will benefit future and present entrepreneurs. The main attraction of this exhibition will be on-the-spot registration of the PMFME scheme run by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, under which there is a provision of 35% or up to 10 lakh rupees support for micro food processing industries. On November 4, the Chief Guest of the Closing Ceremony of the exhibition will be Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and the special guest will be Shri Suresh Khanna, Hon'ble Finance Minister, Uttar Pradesh. Entry to the exhibition is free.
IIA in association with Danbro Institute of Bakery & Culinary Arts is organising a Cake Competition for home bakers, Cake artists, Bread makers or Chocolatiers, the idea is to provide a platform were Pattessiere Chefs both amateur & professional can showcase their baking talent by taking part in the live competition and win some exciting prizes and receive feedback from the judges. There will be many categories for all levels of skills and interests. Each winner and runner-up will get exciting prizes.
In the National Seminar on Food Processing Industries to be held on 3 and 4 November at the exhibition site itself, the participants will be informed about PMFME Scheme, Agro and Food Packaging, Machinery and Technologies for Food Processing Industries, Possibilities of Agro-based Food Processing Industries, Credit facilities for Industries, etc. in detail by the experts and the queries of the participants will also be resolved. Shri Brijesh Pathak, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh will be the Chief Guest in the opening ceremony of the Seminar.
