ACT Fibernet, in collaboration with a deep-tech partner, has released a new report showcasing the real-world impact of ACT Smart Wi-Fi powered by Zippy, the brand’s intelligent home Wi-Fi solution. The findings highlight how Smart Wi-Fi technology transforms connectivity by intelligently managing device performance, delivering up to 5x faster speeds across devices and a 17% improvement in Quality of Experience (QoE), all within customers’ existing broadband plans.
Unlike conventional routers, ACT Smart Wi-Fi automatically detects each device’s capability and signal strength, switching between the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands to maintain the best possible connection. This intelligent band steering ensures that devices demanding higher bandwidth — such as laptops, mobiles, or smart TVs — are always routed through faster, more stable channels, while everyday devices are seamlessly balanced across the network. The result is a consistently smooth experience for streaming, gaming, and video calls — without needing to upgrade plans or manually adjust settings.
Across device categories, the improvements were significant. Laptops and mobiles recorded up to 5x better performance, not because the base broadband plan changed, but due to optimized Wi-Fi signal management and improved spectrum utilization. Even legacy devices like older smart TVs achieved nearly 3x improvement in stability and responsiveness. Overall, customers experienced smoother, uninterrupted performance across all connected devices in their homes.
The report also found that Smart Wi-Fi devices spent 71% of their time on higher bandwidth bands, compared to just 48% under non-smart setups. Similarly, devices remained on higher-capacity channels 30% more often, while usage of lower-bandwidth channels dropped by 41%. This efficient network steering directly translated into better consistency, faster response times, and a more reliable experience — especially in device-heavy households.
Quality of Experience (QoE) — a holistic measure of speed, stability, signal strength, and lag — improved by 18% overall, led by laptops and mobile devices that benefit most from adaptive channel switching. Reinforcing customer trust, ACT Fibernet shared that two out of three users are already on Smart Wi-Fi, underscoring widespread adoption and satisfaction among its customer base.
Mr Naveen Nahar, Vice President - Marketing, ACT Fibernet, said, “With homes and offices becoming increasingly digital, customers expect more than just high-speed internet, they expect consistency, reliability, and seamless performance across devices. This report reaffirms what our users are already experiencing: Smart Wi-Fi, powered by Zippy, is not a premium upgrade but a smarter way to maximize the potential of existing broadband plans. By automatically managing device connectivity and signal allocation, it ensures uninterrupted streaming, lag-free gaming, and smoother video calls — even in the busiest homes. We believe this is the future of home connectivity technology that adapts to people, not the other way around.”
The report further highlights how Smart Wi-Fi’s adaptive band steering and channel optimization ensure that each connected device gets the right bandwidth at the right time. When combined with Mesh networks, which extend signal coverage across larger spaces, the benefits multiply, enabling laptops and mobiles to maintain strong, high-speed connections even in multi-room setups. Together, Smart Wi-Fi and Mesh create a truly intelligent, self-optimizing network that ensures ACT Fibernet customers always get the best from their broadband plans.
