UK Keen on Collaborating with Indian MSMEs

In a positive development for the Small and Medium Businesses (SMEs) of India, strong signs for business came from United Kingdom. British High Commissioner to India expressed his keen desire to explore possibilities of co-operation and collaboration between the MSMEs of India and Britain. The key focus areas will remain skill development, entrepreneurship development, technology transfers etc.

The British High Commissioner, James Baven had a meeting with Mr Kalraj Mishra, Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

The MSME Ministry of India shared theie positive feedback with media after the meeting.

Mr Kalraj Mishra expressed gratitude to the High Commissioner and assured best co-operation and support.  Senior Officers of the Ministry were also present on the occasion.

The British High Commission is committed towards bringing the countries closer on Business terms, The High Commission has a dedicated department by the name of  UK Trade and Investment which is working in this direction. The UKTI is working closely with the Indian government to improve business links between UK and India. The department is also working with the Indian and international partners to contribute towards change to an open, stable and equitable low carbon economy.

UKTI is also improving links with Indian economic and political powers and supporting development of the private sector to encourage growth and improve the investment climate in India.

The bilateral trade between the two countries was 12 billion pounds in 2012. About 40,000 Indian students are currently studying in the UK.
