NEW DELHI/WASHINGTON: With little over a month to go before the US general elections, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has shown his commitment and attention towards Asia Pacific. Trump appointed Indian-Americans into his Asian Pacific American Advisory Committee.
The committee has over 30 members including few prominent Indian-Americans – Shalabh Kumar from Illinois, Puneet Ahluwalia from Virginia, KV Kumar from California.
Commenting on this historic development, "We are on the threshold of a new era. It is a movement that I am witnessing this presidential elections in US. I am confident that Trump would be the next president of the United States," Shalabh Kumar, founder of the Republican Hindu Coalition said, "The Trump administration, will be the way forward for India-US relationship and we could see a new height for Indians as well as Americans."
Apart from being the chairman of RHC, this Punjabi by origin, Indo-American business tycoon, Mr Kumar, holds prominent positions as he is the Vice-Chair for Finance, The Republican Party, Chairman of Indo-American Advisory Council for Donald Trump and Vice chairman of the newly formed Asia Pacific American Advisory Committee for Donald Trump.
According to the Trump campaign the committee is elected and grassroot leaders are appointed. They will engage AAPI on relevant issues to these important and vibrant communities.
Governors Eddie Calvo and Ralph Torres of Guam and Northern Mariana Islands (NMI) respectively, will serve as the Council's Co-Chairs, it said.
While elaborating his trust on Trump and trust on India-US trade relations under the leadership of Donald Trump, Mr Kumar also said, “We currently have the strongest pro-India platform anyone has ever written.”
One more thing which has to be noted, that Mr Shalabh Kumar is the same person who support Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi since 2011 when he was the Chief Minister of the Gujrat State. Known as a strongest support of PM Modi, Mr Kumar feels, “There are lot similarities in these two world leaders. I perhaps have known both leaders closely and realize that India and US are going to be known as the transformers of new age global economy. Prime Minister Modi and Donald Trump holds all the qualities of becoming catalysts of such transformation.”
“I strongly believe that 20th century for the entire world will be the century of India and US.” Concluded Mr Shalabh Kumar.
