MSMEs Urged to Upgrade Skills of Their Workforce Through NSDC

Speaking at an interactive meeting with exporters at the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) here, Managing Director of Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre (VTPC), S.R. Satheesha said the new industrial policy, to be unveiled in October 2019, is aimed at doubling the exports and helping Karnataka reach the third position in terms of export in the country.

The Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have been urged to upgrade the skills of their labourers by utilizing the courses offered by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

Speaking at an interactive meeting with exporters at the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) here, Managing Director of Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre (VTPC), S.R. Satheesha said the new industrial policy, to be unveiled in October 2019, is aimed at doubling the exports and helping Karnataka reach the third position in terms of export in the country.

VTPC was holding consultation with exporters in different parts of the State to provide inputs for the chapter on exports in the new policy. The VTPC has held interactive sessions in Dharwad and Belagavi, he said.

Satheesha said VTPC has already identified a few potential sectors to double the export. Efforts will also be made to create a conducive atmosphere for ease of business
