'Startup India and Standup India'

CII salutes Hon’ble Prime Minister for impressive implementation of new campaigns and schemes announced in the last 15 months. Social security, Startup India, and agricultural productivity as stressed by Hon’ble Prime Minister are the foundations for the next growth trajectory.

The objective of offering incentives for investments is to promote employment. It makes eminent sense to give incentives directly as per employment generated. The parameter of employment in financial incentives to new manufacturing units as stated by Hon’ble Prime Minister in his Independence Day Speech can be a game-changer for labour-intensive sectors like textiles, leather, food processing and so on. CII strongly welcomes Hon’ble PM’s announcement of this innovative idea and we hope the details would be announced quickly.

Mr Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII expressed his positive views on Hon’ble Prime Minister's 69th Independence speech by adding, "Mr Modi has delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing Team India and touching upon strong implementation of development campaigns. Financial inclusion with opening of 170 million accounts, initiatives under Shramave Jayate, and stress on curbing corruption bring millions of people under the ambit of development. Indian industry in particular notes the high importance given to agricultural productivity including conservation of water, energy and fertilisers to ensure more crop per drop. Agricultural reforms would set a strong foundation for rural development."

Similarly, strong importance attached to governance and combating corruption coupled with implementation helps ease of doing business. Indian industry as a partner in development and vital generator of jobs is a core component of Team India aiming at a rapid development as the country heads towards completing 75 years of freedom.
