Senior IAS officer of Karnataka Cadre Pradeep Singh Kharola took charge as the chairman and managing director (CMD) of Air India.

Kharola assumed charge from Rajiv Bansal. Pradeep Singh Kharola was the Managing Director of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited since February 2015. Cabinet had given approval to his appointment of November 29, 2017.
