NTPC inked MoU with NSDC to Skill 25000 people in 5 Years

NTPC, a Maharatna Company under the Ministry of Power will contribute its CSR funds to support a project to skill 25000 persons. All programs offered will be aligned to the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF), which organizes qualifications according to a series of levels of knowledge, skills and aptitude.

NTPC has signed its second memorandum of understanding which is a corporate responsibility initiative towards Skilling India in a span of two months with the National Skill Development Fund (NSDF) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

The tripartite MoU was signed by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jyotna Sitling, Director (HR), NTPC, UP Pani and MD and CEO, NSDC, Dilip H Chenoy. in the presence of Union Minister of Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy, Piyush Goyal and Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Rajiv Pratap Rudy in Patna on Friday.

According to the agreement, NSDC through its Approved Training Partners will facilitate providing quality training and placement to the trainees through its Training Partner network, with focus on self-employment related training where relevant.

On the occasion, Goyal expressed his expectation that his ministry will work at the grass-root level and polish all the talent in the country to be job ready for not only industries under my ministry but across sectors.

“Skill workforce is the backbone for every industry as we cannot progress until unless we have skilled workforce. We collectively want to set an example for others to follow through this MoU,” he said.

Welcoming the power ministry for coming forward and recognising the importance of skilled workforce in the country, Pratap Rudy said that agreements like these will empower the youth and make them employment ready.
